Margaret Atwood The Year of the Flood coverMargaret Atwood’s latest book is set in the future, where the world has been overrun with “CorpSeCorps” (Corporation Security Corps), genetic mutations, underground drug rings, animal extinctions, and more fun things. The main action in The Year of the Flood takes place surrounding a religious group called “God's Gardeners” a small community of survivors of the same environmental catastrophe depicted in Atwood's earlier novel, Oryx and Crake.

The web site, created to promote the book and extend the interest in the story line, was designed by Scott Thornley + Company who commissioned Metawave to bring their design concept to life in Canadian, USA, UK and German versions.

Not only does the website effectively organize a wealth of information about the book and the author, it also reflects Margaret Atwoods’s dedication to environmental causes. For example, the Saint's Page is where people can be honoured for their environmental and humanitarian contributions by the dedication and purchase of a 'Saint Scroll' to honour them.

Website visitors can also order audio clips of “God’s Gardeners” hymns written by Margaret and put to music. Sheet music and ring tones can also be purchased. A percentage of these sales go towards not-for-profit organizations.
