Thornton Grout and Finnigan are a prominent Toronto Legal firm focusing on business law, and specializing in Mergers, Acquisitions, and Bankruptcies. The firm of approximately 30-40 lawyers and paralegals wished to present their key attorneys and biographical summaries on their website for the benefit of site visitors interacting with the firm. They needed to be able to update images and biographical information for these individuals on a timely basis.
Working with their advertising and design agency, Scott Thornley + Company, who had designed an elegant, business oriented website concept, Metawave was engaged to develop the new site and its content administration system. We based the development on the MODx CMS.
One of the prime requirements was access to a listing of all lawyers, their bios and their contact information. On the "lawyers" page, we employed a simple yet effective 'fade' method which intuitively selects which lawyers specialize in either restructuring and/or litigation. For website visitors it doesn't get much easier to find the lawyer you're looking for and contact them or to add their vCard to your contacts.
The website also features publications, which are managed by way of a custom tool built into MODx. This allows the client an easy way to manage current and past legal cases for online sharing with parties involved in those actions.
