York Region Athletic Association
For 40 years, the York Region Athletic Association has been offering student-athletes in York Region secondary schools opportunities to enhance their “education through sport”. Unfortunately, managing all athletes. teams, sports and games using a paper-based system, became exceedingly error prone and very costly in time and duplication.
Metawave solved these issues with the integration of a web-based application that is scalable and easy to use. Now, administrative coordinators, school athletic designates, sport conveners and individual teacher coaches are able to easily and efficiently perform various administrative tasks relative to their role, such as managing Seasons, Declarations, Games, Teams, Sports, Schools, Locations and Users.
There are numerous other important functions available, including:
- Exporting of data for reporting purposes
- Daily automated imports of data containing tens of thousands of records
- Import a schedule of games
- A dashboard for a quick system overview
- Auto-completing text fields
- Mini calendar date selectors
We took special care to to ensure all of their data was thoughtfully laid out, and functionality was intuitive and consistent. Navigation is clearly labelled, tabular data is clean and uncluttered, and is both filterable and sortable. The client is now seeing significant time savings, efficient management of many different points of data, and time-wasting errors and duplication are a thing of the past.
